Perched above the water’s edge on d’Albora Marina is Cabarita’s newest dining sensation, Vela Dining and Bar.

Owned by Sparkling & Co Pty Ltd (who also run Hyde Park Barracks Café), Vela is a complete dining experience – boasting an outdoor seafood, sushi and tapas bar, restaurant, kiosk as well as catering for events and picnickers.

With a sushi menu designed by sushi master Hideo Dekura and a tantalising selection of tapas, the bar’s beautiful outdoor setting is perfect on a balmy summer night. Add a cocktail served by Vela’s resident mixologist, and you’ll really feel on holidays!

The main restaurant occupies the space previously known as Sanders, and the new owners have renovated extensively.

“Our focus is on quality, fresh ingredients and delicious meals, served at reasonable prices,” says Director, Lorraine Saladino.

The restaurant sources directly from fishmongers and the Mediterranean-inspired menu offers tempting seafood, meat, poultry and vegetarian dishes to keep everyone happy. Most meals are gluten free.

Desserts are made onsite and are something special. I’ve heard the gelato described as “amazing” and the Swiss Lindt, chocolate fondant, served with a raspberry coulis and Belgian white chocolate gelato ($14) sounds pretty good doesn’t it?

The Kiosk offers a more casual dining option and serves main meals, snacks and drinks seven days per week.
